As a black woman whose forefathers have faced the worst of white supremacy, this book is very close to my heart. It manages to in a very layman way explain the dreadful consequences of slavery that we still face today.
A very well-written book that tackles a very important topic in a time of angst and fears that the community faces. I would recommend it to everyone no matter their race, skin color, or their age.
I have had first-hand experience with modern-day slavery and its various ways of becoming a non-issue in our society. All I can say is that this book is a powerful and bold read that needs to be a part of everyone’s life
A very well-researched book that leaves no stone unturned. I, as a teacher, think that parts of it should be made a part of the school curriculum so that diversity and the need to learn about the atrocities is inculcated amongst the students
